About dishwasher repair in Tampa Bay

Why dishwashers fail in Florida — and how we fix them.

Dishwashers in Tampa Bay homes face a unique combination of hard well water in Pasco and Hernando, brackish municipal water in coastal Pinellas, and high humidity that accelerates door-seal and control-board failures. Most calls we run fall into four buckets: won't drain, won't clean, leaks, or an error code that the homeowner can't decode.

We service every common platform — Bosch 100/300/500/800-series, Whirlpool/KitchenAid/JennAir shared chassis, Samsung, LG, GE Profile and Café, and Miele/Asko in higher-end installs. Most repairs finish in under 90 minutes with OEM parts on the truck.

If your dishwasher leaves standing water at the bottom, won't start a cycle, leaks from the door or the base, or is flashing an error code, book a diagnostic. You get a flat-rate written quote and a one-year warranty on every repair.

Symptoms we fix

If your dishwasher is doing any of this, book a diagnostic.

  • Not draining
  • Not cleaning
  • Leaking
  • Won't start
  • Error code

What's included

Every dishwasher job covers:

  • Pump diagnosis
  • Spray-arm service
  • Inlet valve test
  • Door-seal replacement

Common causes

The failures we see most on dishwashers.

Five to seven failures account for the vast majority of dishwasher service calls. Here's what we find on the truck.

  1. 01

Drain pump or check valve clogged

Food debris, broken glass and labels from jars jam the drain pump impeller. Symptom: standing water at the bottom, sometimes a humming pump that can't move water. 45–75 minutes to clear and replace.

  2. 02

    Circulation pump failed

Dishes come out dirty even with new detergent and proper rack loading. The circulation pump (different from the drain pump) isn't building pressure. Common on aging Bosch and Whirlpool platforms.

  3. 03

    Door seal / latch leaking

Water on the floor at the front of the unit. Almost always the perimeter door seal hardening with age, or the latch not pulling the door tight. Both are quick fixes.

  4. 04

    Inlet valve stuck or failed

Doesn't fill, fills too slowly, or floods. We test inlet pressure and flow before swapping the valve.

  5. 05

    Control board moisture damage

Random button presses, won't start, error codes that change between cycles. Common on builder-grade installs where steam wicks up through the door vent into the PCB.

  6. 06

Spray arm or filter housing clogged

Hard water scale and food debris choke off the spray jets. Often misdiagnosed as 'bad detergent.' We clean and verify spray pattern before recommending parts.

Typical pricing

Honest flat-rate ranges for dishwasher repair.

Brand-specific notes

What we see on each brand of dishwasher.

Each manufacturer has its own characteristic failure patterns. Here's what to expect — and what to ask your tech about — by brand.

Bosch

AquaStop hose faults (false leak detection) and drain pump impeller wear on 300/500-series. We follow the Bosch service mode — error codes alone don't tell the full story.

Whirlpool / KitchenAid / JennAir

Shared chassis means shared parts. Diverter motor, chopper assembly and sump leaks are the dominant failures across the W11 platform.

Samsung

Top-control LE codes from a leaking sump float switch — caught early, it's a $250 repair; ignored, it ruins the control PCB.

Miele

Flowmeter and circulation pump faults. Proprietary diagnostic codes — we're trained on the Miele service computer.

FAQ

Dishwasher Repair questions, answered.

Call 813-295-7400 for anything else — a real dispatcher will pick up.

Why is there always standing water in my dishwasher?+

Either the drain pump is clogged, the check valve is stuck, or the home's drain hose has a kink. We clear and test all three before recommending parts.

Why are my dishes coming out dirty?+

Three usual suspects: a weak circulation pump, clogged spray arms (hard-water scale), or the dishwasher draining mid-cycle from a failed check valve. Diagnostic pinpoints which.

Are dishwasher repairs worth it on a builder-grade unit?+

Often not past 8 years. We give you honest math: if the repair is over half of a comparable replacement, we'll say so. Premium units (Bosch, Miele, KitchenAid built-ins) are almost always worth fixing.

Do you handle dishwasher leaks that have already damaged the floor?+

We fix the dishwasher; for floor damage we recommend a moisture remediation company. We document the failure mode in writing for your homeowner's insurance claim if needed.
